LOVE IS IN THE AIR (BALLOON)

On Saturday, after a long week at this conference, I came home to a delightful surprise! My dear hubby had filled our entire bedroom with balloons (my favorite)! Needless to say we spent the whole weekend batting them around the house.
Turns out balloons get everywhere . . . .

 . . .  in the living room . . .

 . . . in the bureau . . .

 . . .  in the bathroom . . .  (ha!)

. . .  in the kitchen . . .

. . . even in the closets!I hope you had a wonderful weekend full of love (and silliness).

TUTTI CONFETTI = TUTTI AMORE

For the next three weeks I am off on an adventure—the best adventure possible! I am getting hitched, an amazing event and process that has inspired my ongoing series of posts called The Wedding Files. While I am on my honeymoon I will be featuring short and sweet posts every day to tide you over until I return. Hope you enjoy them!

How awesomely cheeky are these illustrative prints by Etsy shop Tutti Confetti? They would make the perfect anniversary present for your nerdiest couple friends. I am in love with the two boxers; which would you pick?

LOVE, NOTED

VALENTINE'S DAY CARDS

As a stationery nerd, I have to say that my favorite part of Valentine's Day (besides cuddling with my sweetie, of course!) is picking out the right card for the right person and dropping it in the mail as a little surprise. Remember when we used to give everyone in our class a little valentine? Why does that have to stop? I would love to be able to send a note of love/friendship to everyone in my life . . . wouldn't you?

If you are looking for cards that are sure to make someone smile, the companies listed above—Egg PressWalk Up PressFugu Fugu PressRifle Paper Co.—never fail to deliver. I am particularly in love with the heart shaped Egg Press cards and Rifle's 'You're a Fox' card. Too cute!

Have a great weekend all! Make sure to enter our delicious Valentine's Day giveaway here! See you back here with more 'obsessive images' on Monday!

MY (PERMANENT) VALENTINE

ALTERNATIVE VALENTINES

PERMANENT VALENTINES

This morning I was lamenting the fact that I was behind on my Valentine's Day posts. But I realized something: why celebrate love only one day of the year? I really like the idea of doing small special things for your loved ones on unexpected days, surprising them with little notes or gifts just to make them smile. So, another idea: why not have your walls decorated with artwork that reminds you to spread the love? These are currently some of my favorites:

On Wednesday, Armelle (one of my favorite blogs!) did a great post about free cards and favors you can print for your Valentine. How adorable are these ideas? You can check all of the picks here.

Happy weekend!

It often seems hard to find a unique, romantic present . . . not anymore! The madebyjulene shop on Etsy features some delightful typographic paper-cuts featuring amorous phrases and reasonable prices. Even better? For a bit more, Julene will customize the paper-cut with a phrase of your choosing! Check out Julene's shop here and her website here (for personalized orders and more information).

FIVE BIG ONES!

Just a little announcement: the obsessive imagist has hit 5000 views!  Hooray!  It feels like just yesterday that the o.i. hit 3000 . . .

Thank you my lovely, devoted readers!   I can't tell you how satisfying it is to know that things that make me smile also resonate with you all.

With that said, one favor: comments, comments, comments!  I want to hear from you!  Feel free to leave a little note to say hi or a long note to respond to a post.  Let me know what you think about all of the new o.i. features!

LOVE IS IN THE STAMP

The United States Postal Service has raised the prices on postage AGAIN.  It seems that snail mail is losing money in the wake of scanning and emailing.  Who would have thought?  Anyway, the raised prices have left me scrambling to find a decently designed stamp to replace my beloved Eames stamps.  I was surprised to find these "Love" stamps featuring a playing card style King and Queen.  I love the colors and like the idea of pairing them on a large envelope or package.  Buy a booklet of 20 for $8.80 here.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you have a day filled with lots of love!
Just don't forget to brush your teeth first!
