While I practiced a lot of embroidery as a kid, I can promise you I never did anything as intricately patterned or imaginative as Jazmin Berakha does with her figurative, embroidered drawings. Aren't they lovely? They almost could be really beautifully rendered fashion sketches. Her style reminds me of the wonderful Alyson Fox or Vera B. Williams, the author of one of my all time favorite children's books.

I have been wanting to post about the Movie Title Stills Collection for a while now and when I was scrolling through the Saul Bass examples this morning I knew I couldn't hold back. I mean, really, the man was a master!

But the stills collection has much, much more than just Saul Bass design—enough to keep any graphic design lover chock full of inspiration for days! Check it all out here.

(And if you want to see some of Saul's title sequences in action, head over here.)

LE DROIT DE SUITE (THE RESALE RIGHT)

I love everything about this video—its informative and adorable. I wish the artist, Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet, would sell prints or a poster. I would buy it in an instant!

See lots more of Lyet's fabulous work on his portfolio site here (favorites here, here, here and here).

Thanks to plenty of color for the tip.

I don't know why, but I have been majorly craving bright, fun statement jewelry recently. Especially long colorful necklaces to pair with a simple black dress. Here are some of my current favorites with a touch of blue and green.

How fabulous is this outdoor furniture? It's a series called 'Fildefer' has been designed by Alessandra Baldereschi for Skitsch to resemble line drawings of tufted couches and chairs. Cool right?

Thanks to Courtney (and Apartment Therapy) for the heads up.

It's not surprising that the color-crazy Katy and Michelle both recommend the gorgeous floral paintings of South Carolinian artist Lulie Wallace. These big, beautiful bouquets are simply too lush and vivid not to take a prominent spot on my wedding registry. As swissmiss would say #wishlisted!

Have you heard of the Jazz Age Lawn Party? It's a fabulous bi-annual summer fete on Governor's Island where all of the attendees dress up in 1920s garb and dance the Charleston to big band music. Basically, it's awesome!

I have wanted to go for several years now, but it wasn't until my fabulous friend Kate (fourth photo from the top) decided to host her birthday party there this past weekend that I actually got my act together and headed over! I was so impressed with how nattily dressed everyone was and have vowed to search for a great outfit and go back next year to show it off. In the meantime I will just have to use all these fun photos I took as inspiration. Hope you like them!
