THE EDITOR: A BEAUTIFUL FILM
I love me a beautiful, graphically designed video (like this one!). This lovely little clip illustrates all the amazing, complicated work done by truly gifted editors to make each film seamlessly soar through our imaginations. Made by the brilliant team at insidetheedit.com (a website devoted to teaching the art of editing), it is surely worth a quick two minute viewing.

INTERNET ADS EXPLAINED, BEAUTIFULLY
I am totally in love with this animation, created collaboratively by Will Samuel and Dominic Owen, that teaches kids about the way advertising works on the internet. The graphics are fabulous and the voiceover is quite funny. Brilliant, right? Now can they do an animated video about HTML to show people it's not an STD?!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day? My hubby and I are celebrating with a romantic dinner tomorrow night, so for me tonight is just like any other night (well perhaps with more chocolate). I am pretty busy with work and school right now, so I thought I would keep this post sweet and to the point.
Here's an endearing little short film by Disney called Paperman. It has been nominated for Best Animated Short at the Oscars this year and—being set in '40s era New York City—represents an endearing and romantic storyline, perfect for today!
Have an amazing Valentine's Day!
UPDATE: Paperman won the Oscar for Best Animated Short. Amazing!
NUMBERS NEVER LIE
Have you seen these amazing video clips by sports reporter Michael Smith for ESPN? Presenting stats through animated illustration, he creates these short segments for the show he co-hosts called Numbers Never Lie. I love them! And not just because I am a die hard Pats fan and this clip is talking about the trouble with the Jets . . .
Check more out here (and see more of my sports obsessions here).
FOLLOWING THE BOUNCING BALL
This little animation, created by Sebas and Clim, is beautiful and clever. Simple words, simple animation and fantastic results.
Here's to making your own stories this weekend! Have a great one; I will see you next week.

LE DROIT DE SUITE (THE RESALE RIGHT)
I love everything about this video—its informative and adorable. I wish the artist, Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet, would sell prints or a poster. I would buy it in an instant!
See lots more of Lyet's fabulous work on his portfolio site here (favorites here, here, here and here).
Thanks to plenty of color for the tip.
