Having been an avid reader of Lisa Congdon's blog A Collection A Day, I was super excited to read that UPPERCASE is publishing a book about her collections.
GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS

I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day and long President's weekend. I spent most of it furiously researching and rewriting a paper--fun! I managed to sneak some time to watch the Olympics though which is always exciting. Also exciting was my Valentine's Day present: a subscription to UPPERCASE magazine! I have been coveting it for a while (see here) and can't wait to get my first copy in the mail.
Anyway, I wanted to share my latest project with you: a redesign of my business cards. I am pretty happy with how they came out but would love to hear what you think!
UPPERCASE MAGAZINE
As if I weren't tempted enough by this beautiful new magazine created by the beloved UPPERCASE gallery in Canada, they have now posted this flip book of the first issue. Do you think drool is bad for my keyboard?
I might just bite the bullet and buy a subscription. Apparently it is like Blueprint and Domino and Readymade combined to create delicious design-y goodness. Really, who can pass this up? Mom, you maybe want to go in together on this one? Maybe we could chalk it up to "research material" for our various design projects.
SPEAKING OF UPPERCASE . . .

So here's what I am thinking:
1. I have loved every show Uppercase Gallery has put on (even though I haven't seen them in person,
every photo and every work points to greatness).
2. I love everything in the Uppercase Gallery shop.
________________________________________________________
= I am 99.9% sure that whatever glories lie behind the cover of this magazine, I want to see them. I am sure they are inspired and gloriously designed. It is reminding me of this lovely artist's book/magazine.
Hmmm, a subscription might make it to my birthday wish list . . . .
DECORATING MY DREAM BEDROOM

I really like the idea of having this sweet little love poster hanging above my bed. Wouldn't it also be a nice wedding present? Featured at the Uppercase Gallery, the poster is designed to fit in a standard Ikea frame and is reasonably priced at $45. Check it, and several other amore-themed prints, out here.

HEHEHEHE . . .
I shopped victoriously! What an apt slogan! I am now the proud owner (thanks to Ebay) of this vintage light blue Royal Quiet Deluxe typewriter. It is supposed to be here in a week - I can't wait!
Thanks to Janine at UPPERCASE (a super cool type/font/design oriented gallery in Calgary, Canada) for getting me inspiring me to make the Royal typewriter search on Ebay. I was not disappointed!
