WORKING FOR THE WEEKEND

Do you all have anything fun planned for the weekend? Unfortunately I am on lockdown, spending all of the weekend working on essay that is due all too soon. Assuming you have more time for fun, here are some fabulous links to keep you occupied for the next two days.




Christoph Niemann's Abstract Sunday blog for the New York Times keeps getting better and better. I particularly loved discovering one of his latest posts (above) focused on "modern squash" aka pumpkins and gourds turned into modern furniture icons. Love it! Speaking of modern design (and that Eames coatrack top left), this is an amazing DIY project.


I am obviously loving the trend of color, color, and more color in fashion right now. Makes me want these!


Not sure how I would get this up to my high rise NYC apartment (or where I would put it), but I need one of these!

URBANEARS

Do you guys know about Urbanears headphones? I was admiring my friend Elisabeth's pair yesterday and knew I had to do a post about them. Turns out Urbanears is a Swedish company that is big on quality, style and color. My kinda place, right?

Well, after reading up on the amazing Medis headphones that actually clip comfortably into your ear, I am about this close to hitting the 'purchase' button. Because I listen to music everywhere I go and it would be great to have something functional and fabulous to make my day even better!

Late week A Cup of Jo posted about these incredible photos, taken by Norwegian photographer Odin Hole Standal. These prove two things:

1. I love bubbles.

2. Everything that is created in Scandinavia is awesome.

CAMP CIRRUS

Adding to my recent obsession with all things Scandinavian, the swedish home goods company Camp Cirrus is chock full of some fabulous patterns and designs. I particularly love their offering of melamine trays, as seen above—that house pattern is great!

SCANDINAVIAN INSPIRATION

As someone of Swedish descent who loves good design, I am always excited when I spy something remarkable from Scandinavia that I can share with you all. Like this shop and this (bottom) photographer. Here are two more amazing finds from my Northern European brethren.

Last week Black*Eiffel told us about the amazing architectural walkways to be found in Norway. They kind of remind me of a high design version of this walkway.

Last week seesaw also pointed us towards the awesome, brightly colored identity for the Finnish lifestyle store Pino. Check out their profile on Behance for more eye candy.
