Remember Stukenborg Press? I wrote about it here. Well now they are doing their beautiful dice prints with metallic gold ink to stunning results. I actually gave in to my Fab.com temptation and bought a couple of these prints, which arrived in the mail yesterday. I have to say that they are even more luminous in person!

I am thinking of getting a nice set of monogramed notecards to have around for miscellaneous wedding uses—though you never really need an excuse for more stationery, right? I have always thought a nice set of monogramed stationery was a great wedding shower or engagement gift (hint hint!).

If you need a wedding gift (or just a treat for yourself!) here are some of my favorite Etsy picks (top to bottom):

Did you all have a good weekend? I had one of those fabulous summer weekends filled with activity and fun, with lots of dancing, good food, sunshine, and shopping (including some wedding attire shopping, hehe).

Needless to say I am in a good mood and wanted to share something equally cheerful with you today. Hence these lovely letterpress posters (all $35) by Sycamore Street Press. I can totally picture a whole line up of them brightening up a hallway or kids room, can't you? Check out more goodies here.

Apparently I am super behind on the times, because I discovered the hilarious website Dear Blank, Please Blank. Basically it is an open submission site where readers can write creative letters that never were, but perhaps should have been. Check it out. Trust me, you'll get a chuckle out of it.

So what could make a clever, funny, well-executed idea even better? Add letterpress. The Etsy store Sapling Press has teamed up with Dear Blank to make letterpress cards out of some of their favorite letters. Check them out here. I am not sure what context would be appropriate to give someone these cards, but they are so well done I think the recipient will be grateful no matter what. Get your own for $4.50 each.

(Thanks to Daily Smudge for the heads up.)

MORE MOONTREE

This summer I took a trip out to the Brooklyn Flea Market and happened to meet the lovely lady behind Moontree Press. Now Martha Stewart has featured Moontree on her blog and the Moontree etsy store seems to be flourishing! Hooray! My recent favorite is the letterpress ornaments on offer for a mere $10. Wouldn't these be a fabulous gift tag for the holidays, where you could write a loving personal message which could then be hung on the tree? Or, since they are printed in fun patterns and in a gorgeous gray, it could be hung up for any holiday!

Check out the ornaments here, the Moontree etsy store here, and the Moontree website here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Since both my parents' birthdays are this week (Dad on Wednesday, Mom on Saturday), I have been keeping my eye out for cute and fun birthday cards. I absolutely adore these patterned letterpress beauties from Egg Press. At $5 each, you can find them all (and much much more) here.

WEEKEND UPDATE, PART 2

My next stop at the Brooklyn Flea was to see the booth for Moontree Letterpress. Awesome! There is really nothing like the inky, gentile texture of paper goods made from letterpress. To top it off, Rebecca's creations
are thoughtful and inspiring with a beautiful, clean palette. I love the pairing of her visual (non-literal) map prints with apothecary jar terrariums. I am so glad I bought my own version of the map of Manhattan (middle photo, left hand side). I can't wait to hang in it my kitchen or entryway. Wouldn't it be a nice greeting for visitors?

Not surprisingly, the beauty continues onto the design of her website (here) and blog (here).

ORANGE BEAUTIFUL SALE

The amazing Etsy shop Orange Beautiful is having a huge sale on everything in her virtual store.  Each and every item is handmade, usually via letterpress, and sports great designs in bright colors.  Check it out here for  fabulous deals on everything from notebooks to art prints to thank you notes.  Also check out Emily and Laura's website here and blog here, both of which symbolize their incredible eye(s) for design.

VALENTINE'S DAY CARD ROUND UP

It's almost February and you know what that means!  Valentine's day!  I know that I have posted recently about cool sites for Valentine's Day gifts, but I thought I would throw in another post about Valentine's Day cards.

Here is a grouping of my favorite letterpress valentines from Etsy--all of which are reasonably priced around $3 (not including shipping)--which means that you will be guaranteed a great product and feel good knowing you are supporting a small business/local artist.

From top to bottom:

STILL HAVE THANK YOU NOTES TO WRITE?

Still need to get off that obligatory note to your aunt or grandparent?  Somehow I think that writing thank you's would be a lot more enjoyable if you had these swanky monogramed notes to write them on.    Unfortunately, being couture letterpress cards, they are really really expensive . . . Sigh.

Maybe some rich relative will gift them so they can get one back as a thank you . . .

Sold by Black Pearl Press you can drool over them here.  All custom stationery is 25% off through the end of January. . .

I WANT A LETTERPRESS!

Why is it that every single card I find irresistible these days is made by letterpress?  How can I get my hands on one of these things?  More importantly, how can I afford one/fit it in my little apartment?  The cards above are some of my Etsy letterpress favorites.
  1. Bike Lady Picnic, jules128
  2. Alphabet, sweetbeets
  3. Its Not That Far Really, rarrarpress
  4. Secret Message, paperedtogether
