I LIKE IKE!

I saw a write up about this absolutely adorable birthday party (designed by Suann of Simple Song for her son Ike's 3rd birthday party) on Kate Headley's blog last fall. Kate is an incredible photographer who specializes in weddings; her expertise in shooting parties is plain from the amazing shots she captured of this awesome party. As you can see the party played off Ike's presidential name with voting booths, campaign buttons, and presidential trivia. So cute!

Needless to say, many of these details would be perfect for a 4th of July party: the roll of tickets, the red and blue pennant flags, the pretty photo booth back drop, etc.

I HOPE SO TOO

With the new administration there is a lot of hope for significant change in the months and years to come.  While I am trying to stay cautiously optimistic, it is really cool to see how ardently hopeful our country has become in light of Obama taking office.

IT'S A NEW DAY

What an amazing speech!  My faith in the future of America is renewed . . . 

Also, Michelle had to be the most gorgeous, elegant and poised First Lady since Jackie O.  How amazing does she look in that gold/green embroidered coat?  If only we could all look so beautiful . . . 

FEELING MUCH BETTER

Hooray!  My presentation is finally done!  Now I just have to start the paper . . . . 

Even better?  America finally made a smart decision about our future!  I can't wait until January 2009 when the country will be back in the hands of someone who knows that "nuclear" only has one "u" in it.  Today is the start of something special: progress!
