WHERE THE WILD (LAUGHS) ARE

Thought you might like a little something to make you smile on this dreary day (there's a 70% chance of rain in New York this afternoon!). I meant to post this amazing Stephen Colbert interview of Maurice Sendak when the venerable illustrator died last month but it somehow slipped my mind. No matter, the brilliant author's acerbic wit continues to shine through in this hilarious and endearing interview; turns out Sendak was the perfect repartee partner for the cheeky Colbert.

See more humorous hijinks by Colbert on his website here and view part two of the interview here.

GETTING FROSTY WITH BABYCAKES

Ha! I have heard lots and lots about the adorable Babycakes Bakery here in New York. But given my stickler status for super delicious baked goods, I was skeptical about their propensity for vegan goodies. Well, after coming across their awesome-looking cookbooks over the past couple months and recently discovering their cheeky/silly demo videos (like the ones above) I am totally sold.* Clearly a pilgrimage to their shop needs to be made pronto!

Learn more about Babycakes here, read their blog here, read an interview with sweet (ha! see what I did?) founder Erin here, and watch more of their super cute videos here.

*Is it just me, or do you also imagine you look like this while you are baking? i love baking so much, I totally feel like a rockstar when I do it. Only my kitchen doesn't have such good lighting. ;)

SOTHEBY'S SERIES: YOUR ART WORLD

The Artist
The Collector
The House
The Rostrum

Have you seen the video documentary series created by Sotheby's? It's pretty incredible, following four different topics: the artist, the collector the auction house and the auctioneer (rostrum). Not surprisingly, they have interviewed a lot of big name people (Jeff Koons! Tobias Meyer!), making this a unique opportunity to hear from the best of the best in their field.

If you have ever been curious to learn more about how the art world works, check out each of these videos here.
