TRAVEL IN STYLE

My current dream trip involves two major components (well three, if you include the company of my favorite man): British Airways and Globe Trotter luggage.  What better way to travel in style than first class on British Airways - with full beds, turn down service and the ultimate in gourmet food - with an armful of elegant leather bags?  It helps that the Globe Trotter website is beautiful (check out that store map!) and that British Airways flies to Athens (oh how I want to see the Greek Isles!).

THINGS I WANT WHEN I GROW UP . . .

. . . for my home!  Now all I have to do is find them all . . .

1.  a photo booth in which every visitor would be required to do a sitting.

2.  a small antique movie marquee with a cheery welcoming phrase (Greetings! Come On In (Starring You)! or something like that . . . ) & a small row of red fabric movie theater seats to throw your coat on.

3.  a room with a map wall - either one giant mural or a conglomeration of many maps, all from places to which I have traveled.

4.  this incredible Albrecht Durer sketch of six pillows to frame over my bed.  what a lovely image to fall asleep/wake up to. . . (too bad the sketch has never been printed in any way, shape or form).

5.  fresh flowers every week.  peonies would be great - if only they were around all year!

CAN I HAVE THIS TOO?

I really like this room too.  Even though I am not much of a yellow person, I love the transformation of this run-of-the-mill Ikea bed (previously silver, revamped with a coat of this mustard color) and the relaxed color palette.  I am going for the same loose grouping above my bed right now - seeing this inspires me to change it up  a bit.  See more exciting DIY creations here at day-lab diy.  (p.s. ARTHUR'S CIRCUS IN APARTMENT THERAPY
