SUPER BOWL AD WRAP UP 2015, PLUS PATRIOTS WIN!!!!!!

Did you guys watch the Super Bowl yesterday? I have to admit, it was pretty hard for me. My hubby and I are die hard Patriots fans and so we spent most of the game so nervous we could barely contain ourselves. But sports are fun, right? Ha! Needless to say, we were elated with the outcome and I now feel better about posting my annual Super Bowl round up (for a trip back in time, see the wrap ups for  2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014).

Also, what did you think of Katy Perry's halftime show? I was surprised with how much I enjoyed it; especially the Missy Elliot guest appearance and the dancing sharks!

Without further ado, click through the link below to see the best commercials from the big game.

I thought there were a bunch of good ads this year, but perhaps no great ones. There was, however, one terrible one (see below). No matter, here are my notables, broken down by categories. Let me know if I missed something!

MAKING FUN OF CELEBRITIES AND CHARACTERS

Overall I thought these were quite funny, especially the Liam Neeson and Ickey Woods ads. Nice work, ad men. Nice work.

SILLY AND/OR SEXY

Fanny packs, minions, randy Italians and the world's first 'draft'—all funny, oddball and silly enough to make me smile.

SAPPY

There was also a theme of sappy Dad-focused commercials. These definitely brought a tear or two to my eye . . . . but, hello, where's the love for the mamas?

Budweiser puppy ads always get to me! This year's was especially adorable! (It helps that I have major puppy fever!)

SERIOUS

This ad was a slap in the face after all the comedic relief above. I liked it right up until the end when, like everyone in America, I felt I had just been hit with the biggest buzzkill of all time. Thanks, Nationwide, for reminding us we are mortal. Want a pick me up after watching this? Check out some of the hilarious reactions to this ad, posted last night.

(Note: this was only included because it was clearly an iconic ad this year, not because it was one of my preferred picks!)

MY NO. 1 PICK

My favorite commercial wasn't actually a Super Bowl commercial, but a Puppy Bowl commercial! Fitting, no? This was just so sweet!

Which was your favorite commercial of the game? Did I miss any? Let me know in the comments.
