A MOMENT IN TIME

Life is good. I need to remind myself of this sometimes, remind myself to stop and take a moment to look around me and take stock of all the amazing things life has to offer. It is so easy to get caught up with work and school and wedding planning that all too frequently I forget to take advantage of a sunny day, to stop and tell the people in my life that I love and appreciate them, to enjoy simple pleasures: making a nice meal, buying fresh flowers, reading a good book, etc.

So what makes me bring all this up? Recently I saw these stunning photographs on Design Mom; they seemed to perfectly capture the idea that we must recognize the beauty in every moment. Taken by amateur, yes amateur, German photographer Heinz Maier, these macro photos are of food coloring-dyed water drops. Incredible, right? They remind me of this—one of my favorites shots of all time—and these—similarly beautiful photos of color and water.

Learn more about Maier and see more of his work here. In the meantime, have a great weekend and don't forget to take a moment to count your blessings.
