NSS 2011: GETTING CHEEKY WITH IT

Over the next several days I will be doing (short) round up posts about my favorite vendors and products at the National Stationery Show this year. Turns out there was a lot of great stuff on view: some wonderful (and super friendly!) newcomers, some fabulous veterans and tons of other fun stuff in between. Read on to learn more!

I met the lovely Elizabeth of Walk Up Press for the first time and I have to say that she is as cool as her graphic witty cards would lead you to believe. My favorite were her cards with big bold swear words on them; very refreshing in a sea of sappy sayings and girly pastels that often is greeting cards. If you recognize the wedding poster above, its because it was featured on Brooklyn Bride recently. Isn't it lovely? I might have to snag one for myself.

Check out all of the clever goodness from the Walk Up Press shop here.

Equally cool and with products that were similarly hilarious was the husband and wife team behind Old Tom Foolery. Calling their cards "unsappy" and "uncrappy" Joel and Lauren have a super clever, unique style based mostly on newspaper headlines and captions. I particularly love the saucy card that says "You're Sexy. Want to hump?". Ha! Their holiday also proves to be a winner (apparently Jack Frost is one naughty boy!). To top it off they had a couple of really touches to their booth: a top hat-shaped trophy that they were awarding to the store that demonstrated "a ridiculously unhealthy enthusiasm" for their products and a super cool map that they pinned with all their distributors and representatives. Love it!
