Yesterday, when going through the amazing posts on The Dieline, I came across the super cool work of recent design school graduate Marley Stellmann. After some tooling around on Stellmann's website, I discovered the incredibly clever poster series above. These pun-focused posters were meant to help draw larger crowds to a farmer's market in Richmond, VA; I have to say that I would go to check out this (obviously) cool farmer's market if I lived within 100 miles of it. Alas, I will have to settle for the (awesome) Green Market here in NYC.

Another super smart project by Marley Stellmann? This simple video. It pokes fun at our overly politically correct society and is short, elegant and smart. Like all of this designer's work.

See more of his work here.

(p.s. Just realized how many photo-video posts I have done in the last couple weeks. Hope you like that! I will try to mix it up soon!)

This Saturday dawned as a gorgeous, warm, sunny day in New York. Accordingly, my boyfriend and I decided to do some exploring of some of my favorite spots on the Lower East Side and Chelsea. The first stop was the Union Square Farmer's Market: one of the biggest and most renown sources in the city for locally grown organic food. I was stunned, as usual, by the beauty of the bounty. It's amazing how colorful fresh fruits and vegetables are! I wanted to buy and eat everything in sight. However, I managed to limit myself to a couple bunches of basil (made into pesto yesterday), some peaches and a glass of raspberry apple cider. All delicious!

Another source of color inspiration at the Farmer's Market are the countless stands selling freshly cut flowers. I love seeing the wildflower bouquets and the pots full of snap dragons, sunflowers, gladiolas and mums. Even better? Besides being cut at the farm that morning, the flowers are all reasonably priced!

Find out more about the Union Square Farmer's Market, which runs all year around, here. See more of my photos from the market here. And look out for part two of my weekend update tomorrow!
