I am totally digging the mixed media collages of Charles Wilkin—bright, bold, colorful and just my style. See more of this goodness here and the rest of his work here.

In reading up on Chiharu's work at Goff + Rosenthal I also discovered the deliciously tactile, vaguely moribund, and all together fabulous work of Ahmed Alsoudani. Also from overseas, Ahmed story is fascinating - he is from Baghdad, escaped to Damascus in 1995 and finally ended up in Maine as a refugee (clearly great fodder for evocative works). Delve deeper into his story here or here (this has a short video interview).
