YONI ALTER

I just stumbled across these very cool city prints by London-based artist Yoni Alter. They feature all the architectural highlights of various major international cities—New York, London, Paris, etc.—rendered in exact proportional scale and gorgeously bright colors. I love seeing the different building styles in different locations all set off in colorful silhouettes. Consider these wish listed!

INSPIRATION IN THE CRACKS AND SCRATCHES: OAKOAK

You know I am a sucker for clever street art (check these out) and these pieces by OakOak, a French "artist who likes to play with urban elements" are no exception. I love how he sees the hidden potential in every crack and scuff in the street, bringing in our favorite characters (Calvin & Hobbes!) for new adventures.Check out more cool things from OakOak here.

GARY HUSTWIT DOES IT AGAIN

URBANIZED

Not sure how I missed it, but the wonderful and talented Gary Hustwit (who I have written about here and here), has released a new documentary. Called Urbanized, it is about the design of cities and what makes them grow and shrink. Apparently by 2050 75% of the world's population will live in a city and Hustwit's film looks at the inventive ways in which numerous people affect global urban design. Pretty cool, right?
