NEW YORK CITY ON MUTE

I love this new Improv Everywhere sketch: feigning a mute button for a noisy NYC park! Too bad this doesn't actually exist!

Check out more on their website here (see my past Improv Everywhere posts here).

(Hope you all had a great long weekend! I know I did!)

EMILY RICKARD

EMILY RICKARD

Oh boy, this painting is beautiful. It comes from the portfolio of Emily Rickard (first spotted here) and is totally serving as inspiration for a bright and wonderful first weekend of summer!

Hope yours is great! See you on Tuesday!

There is a new sheriff in town when it comes to making a party festive and exciting: Geronimo! Balloon Troopers. Filing huge balloons (think 36 inches in diameter!) and tying them off with pretty ribbons, garlands, and sparkly streamers, Geronimo! products are pretty much sure to make a big, fabulous impression! Can you imagine having one of these delivered for your birthday? I think I would die from happiness!

You know what makes Geronimo! even better though? Their dreamy studio shots. Everything looks so sweet and festive. And I am so envious of that ribbon collection!

iPHONE 360

I agree with swissmiss Tina Roth Eisenberg: the Dot 360 degree video capture tool for the iPhone looks incredible. I know my techie Apple-loving father-in-law-to-be would flip for this. Luckily it looks like it will be in full production by the end of the summer. Sweet!

Today I am sharing my last round up about the National Stationery Show. And I can tell you I am ending it on an epic note! First off, I am so excited to show you the (new-to-me) booth: Ladies of Letterpress. They represent a whole bunch of fabulous women who work with paper, but my two favorites were Anemone Press and Heartfish Press. They both have this colorful vibrant style with an emphasis on funky type. Anemone Press has a great series of pun-filled cards (Well done! Ha!) and super fun fluorescent cards. I also love the alphabet cards by Heartfish Press and, did you see her button? Paper obsessed! A girl after my own heart!

Check out Anemone Press and Heartfish Press here and here.

I have always liked the funky, cool-kid style rocked by Gold Teeth Brooklyn and this year's booth totally lived up to that bill. Her simple cards that feature different types of paper are my favorite, but I can totally see how wonderful it would be to give her flamingo, sailboat or sled card for a ton of different occasions. And check out how well her booth is decorated! A vintage globe and peonies . . . yup, this is a booth after my own heart!

Last but not least: Linda & Harriett! One of my all-time favorites. The Linda & Harriett booth always looks so clean and fresh (my apologies for the uneven lighting). I love the patterns, the palette, the watercolor . . . everything! I would be so happy to hang one of her calendars on my wall. I mean, really, how could you not smile when you see that adorable October mask pattern?

Thank you for sticking with me during these recaps. It has been so much fun sharing my picks from this year's Stationery Show this week. I hope you liked them! Feel free to drop me a line or leave a comment if you have any questions or feedback. I am always trying to make the o.i. better! Meanwhile, tomorrow we will return to regular posting.

You know what never fails to make me happy? Rifle Paper Co. goods. And this year's booth did not disappoint. Sweet and lovely as ever, I am totally obsessed with their new recipe cards, birthday cards and Halloween party invites (aka 90% of their shop!).

You may recognize the eye candy above from several Design*Sponge posts in the past. I certainly did. If possible, these illustrative beauties by Banquet Atelier and Workshop look even more better in person. I am completely in love with the 'Sea Animals of the Pacific Northwest'. It would be a fabulous gift for one of my Seattle-based friends (you know who you are!), but really any of the Banquet cards or posters would surely make a great gift for any person or occasion.

There were lots of wonderful designs this year that featured cute characters and creatures. I love the bold, almost vintage style of the cards at Fugu Fugu Press. I mean, it is hard not to smile when you come across a card that has a giant red heart full of well wishes. I also love the flexibility of the Fugu designs: these could be used as thank yous, as anniversary cards, as birthday cards . . . . the possibilities are endless!

Egg Press never fails to deliver some serious eye candy. This year was no exception. I love the new holiday designs (Nice rack! is really hilarious), the birthday cards, the Alvin Lustig-like patterns, and the pop-out earring cards. Brilliant! And I am super excited to hear that a revamp of their wedding offerings is in the works. I can't wait!

Just like Egg Press, the Ink + Wit booth always seems to be full of products that I want in my possession pronto. The lovely and super kind owner Tara told she is starting to sell her awesome rubber stamps singly (last year they were in sets) and is getting great feedback. No wonder! The designs are fabulous. I totally must own that recipe stamp. And how great would it be to give that bear book plate stamp to a new Mom with a couple of baby books? Adorable. The Ink + Wit cards, posters, and wrapping, of course, were also not to be missed. Brava Tara!
